HTC just released their new camera at their Double Exposure event today, designed to "enjoy AND also capture life's moments". The RE has a 16 mega pixel sensor and no viewfinder, it can be mounted on a variety of accessories from standard camera mounts to around necklaces even. RE is always on and has a touch sensor which will wake it when you pick it up. It is operated via a two button set up (one for capturing/recording, and another to activate slow-mo). HTC made it a point that this is not designed for people who "don't want to wear a GoPro on their head all the time", yet offers arm-bands and ironically even a head mount. RE camera will be compatible with iPhone and Android upon release.
The RE camera was introduced along with the HTC Desire Eye in a rather bizarre fashion which the Double Exposure event was composed of. The Desire Eye has both a 13 megapixel sensor and dual-tone flash on the front and the back of the phone.
Also introduced during the event was an image and video editing/collaboration app called Zoe (play link). HTC made this app available to non-HTC Android phones today and will release an iPhone version later this year.
Full tech specs for the devices can be found at the source links.
