Summer is almost over and the fall season is near. There are a couple of things to look forward to: New video game releases, new technology that will revolutionize the world in the near future, the sports fans have the new NFL season, the World Series is almost here, the MLS season will crown a champion soon, the NBA will start in a couple of months and with LeBron back home we can be sure that this season will be something special.
All these things are exiting and I definitely want to see how everything unfold with video games, technology and sports, but as a TV enthusiast I couldn't be more excited to see these new shows airing this fall. (the following are in descending order)
Constantine will be just one of many DC comics adaptations this fall. Matt Ryan will star as John Constantine, a demon hunter who will fight to keep the balance of good and evil on earth. I've seen the Constantine movie from 2005 and I wasn't amused. I hoping the show will bring a better Constantine to life. So I'm curious to see if this new show will pique my interest. Constantine will premier Friday Oct. 24th at 10/9c on NBC. Watch the trailer HERE
8. Scorpion
Scorpion is based on the true stories of the CEO of Scorpion Computer Services’ Walter O’Brien. On the show, Walter O’Brien (Elyes Gabel) leads a group of geniuses that help the government against everyday threats. Being that this show is based on true events, I'm exited to see what the government can do with a group of "Geniuses". Scorpion will premier Monday Sep. 22nd at 9/8c on CBS. Watch the trailer HERE
This will be the second spin off of NCIS which will feature Fast and the Furious Star Lucas Black. As we already know NCIS has been a success and we can only be sure that NCIS: New Orleans won't disappoint. Plus I want to see how Lucas Black can be incorporated into the TV show. NCIS: New Orleans will premier Tuesday, Sep. 23rd at 9/8c in CBS. Watch the trailer HERE
6. Outlander
The show follows a combat nurse (Caitriona Balfe) from 1945 who is mysteriously sent back in time to 1743. With her world turned upside down she must now figure out how to get back to her family and how to survive in this new era. The season stared a week ago and I saw the first episode. Lets just say that there are a lot of unanswered questions that I'm dying to know the answers to. The show is entertaining and unique. Definitley looking forward to the rest of the season. Outlander premiered August 9. Episode 2 will air this Saturday, August 16th at 9p on Starz.Watch the trailer HERE
Gracepoint is a 10 episode miniseries that follows the investigation of a missing boy in a seaside town in California, soon to become a murder investigation. Detective Miller played by Breaking Bad's Anna Gunn and Emmett Carver played by Doctor Who’s David Tennant must solve this homicide before it is too late. Who doesn't want to see The Doctor join forces with Scarlet Witch to find a murderer in a suspicious small town in California? Gracepoint will premier Thursday, Oct. 2nd at 9/8c on FOX. Watch the trailer HERE
This two-part miniseries recounts the story and illusions of the world-famous Harry Houdini played by Academy Award winner Adrien Brody. House of Cards' Kristen Connolly will play Houdini’s wife. I'm a big fan of Houdini and a big fan of The History Channel, so lets just say that being excited for this show is an understatement for me. Houdini will premier Monday, Sep.1st at 9/8c on The History Chanel. Watch the trailer HERE
The Help’s Viola Davis will star as an unorthodox death-penalty law professor. Students will do anything to get her approval. These students will fight for a position at her prestigious law firm. Scandal’s executive producer will be part of this new show, so expect Scandal-type twists. I enjoy all the twists that Scandal has to offer, but yes it can be a bit of a soap opera. But the whole mystery surrounding everyone and the twists that you don't see coming make it all worth it and I see this show being the same way. How to Get away With Murder will premier Thursday, Sep. 25th at 10/9c on ABC. Watch the trailer HERE
2.Gotham
This is one of the most anticipated show of the fall. Detective Gordon (Ben Mckenzie) will investigate the high-profile murder of Thomas Wayne and his wife, none other than Bruce Wayne’s parents. This show will not only follow the origin story of Jim Gordon, but will also have the origin story of some of Gotham's most infamous villains such as the Penguin, The Riddler and Catwoman, just to name a few. There is not much to say here. The Batman series has one of the best, if not THE best, cast of villains in the comics world and to see the origins of how they became the people that we know them as is going to be great. Gotham will premier Monday, Sep. 22nd at 8/7c on FOX. Watch the trailer HERE
1. The Flash
With the success of DC comics heroes on TV, the CW has decided to give Smallville’s spin-off, Arrow, its own spin-off. The Flash will star Grant Gustin as Barry Allen aka The Flash. Allen’s Father will be played by John Wesley Shipp how also played The Flash in the 1990 adaptation. If Arrow is any indication of how The Flash will be, we can definitely expect something good. Be sure to expect cross-over episodes between Arrow and The Flash in the upcoming seasons. After being a long time fan of Smallville and now of Arrow I can't be more ecxited for The Flash. We got a glimpse of Barry Allen becoming The Flash in Arrow and the latest news was that he was in a coma. Now he is out of the coma and ready for the world, with the Green Arrow being in the same timeline we can be sure that the cross over episodes are going to be amazing .The Flash premiers Tuesday, Oct.7th at 8/7c on The CW.
